""Spiderman Tutorial/Tips

Version 2.0

After a year of using spiderman.. I have updated my old tips and here are the new ones! Enjoy!

Spiderman vs Ryu:

First of all, figure out what type of ryu user you are facing. Either you will be facing the jump hadoukener, the superjumping ryu who tries to psych you out, or one who studies your moves. Stay close to ryu users and do not let then hadouken you to death. Once they level up, they will usually try to jump up and do shinku hadouken, or they might wait and try to catch you on the ground when you are jump locked. SPIDERMAN IS FAST. Make sure if the ryu is not leveled up, just stay on the ground and do smaller jumps. Use web balls/ and kick the hell out of him on the ground if he thinks you are trying to jump. When ryu IS leveld up, JUMP! And make sure you read his lag carefully because it is important to be BEHIND ryu when he is leveled up so you can kick the hell out of him again. If you manage to trap him in the corner web ball with the smaller jump because it will be FAST in the corner or use spiderman’s “uppercut”. Make sure that you ALWAYS have at least one level against a ryu user because if you are jumplocked and he tries that shinkuu, either jump block or if he is on the ground, jump and do web sting. Conserving your health is VERY IMPORTANT when you are against a ryu user because they level up very fast. BLOCK WHEN RYU IS LEVELD UP. All the time if you are on the ground. Best thing against jump hadokeners is to jump block and get close to them to use combos, trap them, then simply web sting. One last tip, MAXIMUM SPIDER! It can be very useful, when ryu is at any corner just hadokening his pants off. Superjump Realllly High and then MAXIMUM SPIDER! It works most of the time because your maximum spider will carry spiderman to the corner and then ryu will not be able to stop it. And also, if you are in the air, be careful if the ryu user uppercuts a lot because if that uppercut special hits you, you’re screwed. Block in the air too if you are facing that type of user. Against VIP users, the rd can be FATAL. If you EVER see ryu at level 3, try to stay close to the ground as possible and use kicks or combos because almost anything can stop the rd if you can get to ryu quick enough. It might be a trap too, but nevertheless, it is better to get hit with a level 1 special than a level 3 special. The tenma can be dangerous, so the best thing to do is to study your opponent and see how often they use it. If they are leveled up, JUMP! Against vindicated opponents, the hadouken can be more deadly because it is at times faster, and has odd glitches. Block more against these users. The kick special can be cancelled by the spidey kick or just superjump. The spidey sense can REALLY save you sometimes! Use the symboite when you trap ryu as well.

Difficulty Rating: 6-7


Spiderman vs Ken:

This can be a quite difficult match to contend with because of the dragon punch. Stay as far away from ken as possible and make sure you do not jump directly over them because they will use that one special. Also, the raging fire special on the ground will often be used if you stay on the ground and do kicks. So make sure you do that only when ken is not leveled up. Ken users use the dragon punch very often so try and stay in the air often and do web balls. When in the air make sure to block as well because most of kens specials can be devastating. You do not have to worry too much about rds so its okay to be in the air, unless it is a VIP user. Against Ken’s vindicated moves, simply jump block/ jump. Try to wear down ken users. Again, DO NOT GET CLOSE TO THEM. The shinkuu that ken has now is not that deadly and can easily be blocked since it takes time for it to reach you. Stay far away from ken, and hadouken, then use kicks when ken is not leveled up. Spider IS FASTER than ken, remember that. Cammy is probably the best helper since ken specials are mostly on the ground and you get 6 of Cammy. Symbiote is great against ken users because it cancels a lot of their moves. If ken uses a special on the ground, use death byte. It works great.

Difficulty Rating: 7-8.5


Spiderman vs Akuma

This type of battle is one where you must be cautious. If it is a vip akuma then Watch out for Rds because they will take advantage of the fact that spiderman users stay in the air often. Level 1 rds aren’t too fatal, but watch your opponent and see how often they utilize this special. Also, the vindicated akuma users love that drop kick followed by the shinku shoryu- ken. For this type of battle mostly stay in the air and avoid their specials. Jump blocking will help against being trapped. Use the maximum spider when he is not leveled up because Akuma users cannot hadoken as fast as ryu users. Use the same tactic as you would for ryu though when using maximum spider. Some good helpers against Akuma are Hulk and Zanglief. They are pretty tall and can cancel out those tenmas. Hulk is faster, but Zanglief inflicts more damage. Use the symbiote only if you are being trapped, and rarely use death byte because Akuma users will try to stay in the air as much as possible, especially when fighting spiderman users.

Difficulty Rating: 6-7


Spiderman vs Chun Li

Use Kicks A Lot. A lot of chuns moves can be cancelled out by it and even if she jumps, you can just follow her and use your kicks. Chun is slower than spiderman, so use that to your advantage. Block moderately but be more aggressive than against other characters, especially if she is not leveled up. Inthe air and do a lot of kicks because chun users will try and use their jumping abilites. The web ball is your friend as well the symboite byte. Any kind of helper is good against chun. Symboite byte is great against chuns, as well as the death byte. Just be careful that they don’t jump. Its better if you use spiderman’s kick, turn around, and then use the death byte, since most chuns will jump at that point.

Difficulty Rating: 5-6


[u]Spiderman vs Sentinel

The match depends on how good the user is. Use a lot of kicks and stay in the air as much as your can. If the user is cheap with him, you can always web ball him to death in the air or use your death byte from behind. HE IS A BIG ASS TARGET! Use that to your advantage. The most effective super would be maximum spider so try to use that. Good helpers would be blanka or cammy since sent users mainly stay on the ground. If they use the sentinel force, use a lot of web balls to counter, since spiderman is faster.

Difficulty Rating: 5.5-7[/u]


Spiderman vs Sakura

This is a very tough opponent since sakuras hadoukens are so large. Use the jump block method & the air block method often and try to stay in the air when the user has leveled up. Take time to notice whether or not the user stays mainly on the ground or in the air. If in the air it try to stay in the air and use kicks. Web ball is effective if they are gorund users. Also, try to get a big helper since sakura users try to use their large hadoukens to hit you from above. Watch out for the ground combos because they can be quite costly to your health. Block a lot. Don’t user maximum spider, because it will rarely hit. Use web sting when you are behind her or when she is doing a special on the ground. If you get trapped, use the symboite byte or jump block out of the way when you get your chance.

Difficulty Rating: 7-8.5


Spiderman vs Cyclops

For Cyclops, stay in the air a lot. When on the ground, use lots of combos and do lots of kicks and try to trap them when they are leveld up. Do no stay directly above then because of the gene splice and vertical blasts they will often use. Watch out for the optic blasts as always and use kicks and super jump a lot. Blocking is certainly needed at ALL times because if you get hit even once with a full blast super, it will be hard to recover. When they have leveled up they will usually try to go in the air and use their special from there. Get a big helper for this as well. Use symbiote bite when you are close, but do not use the death byte as your special often because they can easily counter this. Just look for opportunities to use your specials and remember that YOU ARE FASTER. Just don’t let their specials hit you and block. OH and use the combo special on the ground (dunno what it is called) when they are not leveled up. It will inflict a lot of damage and they can only stop it with gene splice (the ground thing).

Difficulty Rating: 7-9


Spiderman vs Wolverine

Even if this is a good user, this will probably be your easiest match to contend with. Don’t use web balls on the ground. Do Not stay on the ground a lot. Use maximum spider as your special as often as you can and get a small helper preferably. Or use dr. doom because that is quite helpful. Kicks are your friend. The things you should watch out for are the healing, fatal claw, and weapon x. Even if you are in the air, block when facing a “fatal clawer”. When they are not leveld up, that is when you strike with your specials. A REALLY GOOD special is the combo special on the ground. Wolvy users will usually fall RIGHT INTO IT! Also, they have nothing against symbiote and death byte. Their healing shouldn’t be a problem your do kicks and are aggressive against these types of users. If they drill claw in the air a lot, use maximum spider more.

Difficulty Rating: 4-6


Spiderman vs Bison

Unless if you encounter a really good bison user, this shouldn’t be too tough. Stay in the air and do not get near the bison users. Stay as far away as you can and use web sting often. They will try to use their warps and simply use kicks. You can stay on the ground when they have not leveled up and use web balls combined with combos. Be careful of the psycho field special in the air. Maximum spider is useful if they tend to warp a lot. If it’s a fast user, jump block and try to get behind them. Web sting right in front of you because bison users want to get close to you. It should hit a lot.

Difficulty Rating: 5-7.5


Spiderman vs Juggernaut

Just stay in the air. Web ball. Get behind them as much as you can. Use kicks when they have leveled up because it will often counter that. Good helpers are blanka and dr. doom. Watch out for power ups and like I said before when they have levled up use kicks. Also combos and stay near them at these times. Other times, simply do web balls from the air. If they really get you trapped, use symbiote byte or death byte because they can’t counter it. Jump if you get stuck and use kicks and they won’t be able to counter them.

Difficulty Rating: 4-6


Spiderman vs Onslaught

You wont get many of these matches, but when you do use helpers combined with maximum spider or death bite since they cannot block. Stay in the air when not performing specials. This should be an easy match as well. May be use regular venom as your helper since you get a lot of them. Get close to them and combo the hell out of them Wink

Difficulty rating: 3-6.5


Spiderman vs Spiderman

Oh boy this is a tough one. Okay, the key to victory is staying ABOVE your opponent. Use web balls when above them and then use 2 kicks. Believe me youll get them you’re above them. Death byte can be really useful if the user kicks a lot, ground or air. Just don’t use it when they have leveld up. Use maximum spider from WaY Above and if it doenst hit use a helper the next time you try it. The helper should throw them in the air and your maximum spider will hit. Dr. Doom is a great helper as well as hulk. This is the toughest match so gl. Make sure to try and read your opponent and see if they stay in the air more or the ground more. Stay above them and you will do well. Make sure to block a lot because a defensive game against spiderman will be a better one. A GOOD START IS KEY! Make sure you get some of the first hits because it will mostly be an even/ non offensive match most of the time. You can slowly chip away from their life and if you block well then you should get the close victory.

Difficulty rating: 8-10
